SRMC Occupational Health Nurse Beverly Moody, BSN, RN, COHN, was presented the prestigious award at the fall conference of the South Carolina Association of Occupational Health Nurses (SCAOHN). The award celebrates the nurse who has made outstanding contributions to advancing the health and well-being of employees across the state.

Moody was selected for consistently going above and beyond to support SRMC employees through both occupational injuries and personal health challenges, while demonstrating dedication and compassion. In 2023, Moody joined the three-person nursing team at SRMC, the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS).

As part of their duties as the SRMC Health Services team, Moody and her colleagues provide first-aid care to members of the SRMC workforce.

“SRMC employees commit to working safely every single day,” Moody said, “But when minor accidents occur, the Health Services team provides the initial medical treatment for incidents, including cuts, scrapes, and insect stings. We are also here for more significant injuries and for helping employees when personal health issues arise. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to perform these services for our 3,700-person team.”

Moody added that she feels honored to follow in the footsteps of her maternal grandmother, who was one of the original DuPont nurses in the 1950s. She is also active in the promotion of her profession as an occupational health nurse, as she will assume duties as president of SCAOHN in 2026. She has served as president-elect for the past two years.

SRMC is the Liquid Waste Contractor at the Savannah River Site and comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
