AIKEN, S.C. (September 5, 2024) - Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) addressed an audience of potential subcontractors and offered the playbook to small businesses wanting to do business with Savannah River Site (SRS) contractors.
The annual Energy, Technology & Environmental Business Association (ETEBA) Federal Business Opportunities Forum in North Augusta, S.C., attracted people from many states interested in doing business with SRS contractors.
The sold-out event afforded attendees a forum to learn about projects, opportunities, and programs, as well as access to federal contractors. Five panels discussed various topics regarding SRS opportunities and SRMC’s panel covered Opportunities for Doing Business with Savannah River Mission Completion.
One of the presenters, SRMC’s Small Business Program Manager Ashley Hannah, acknowledged that SRMC cannot complete the SRS liquid waste mission without small businesses.
“Small business suppliers support all SRMC facilities and missions,” Hannah said. “They play integral roles that support our contract requirements, and we will not be successful without them. SRMC will guide them through the process of becoming an SRS vendor.”
Approximately 350 people attended the forum representing about 130 businesses. Small businesses made up 60 percent of all businesses with roughly 80 small businesses in attendance.
ETEBA is a non-profit trade association representing approximately 200 small, large, and mid-sized companies and affiliate members that provide environmental, technology, energy, engineering, construction and related services to government and commercial clients.
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
