AIKEN, S.C. (May 27, 2026) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) raised $9,930 for Children’s Place, Inc., a local United Way agency, at its annual Celebrity Waiter Night fundraiser on May 12.

SRMC, the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS), had employees take on the responsibilities of waiters at The Beech & Barrel in Beech Island, serving guests in exchange for donations.
The fundraising effort goes to support Children’s Place, Inc., which aims to protect, heal, and strengthen children and families from the impact of trauma and other adverse experiences.
SRMC Projects and Construction Services Executive Assistant Bobbi Stavru, who coordinates the event for SRMC, called the night a huge success.
“Celebrity Waiter Night was a great time for SRMC to support Children’s Place, Inc., and the wonderful mission they represent. We had both employees and members of the public supporting us, which was really a heartwarming experience to take part in,” she said. “I’m so thankful to call Celebrity Waiter Night 2026 a success and look forward to doing this again next year.”
SRMC Chief of Staff Emily Saleeby participated as a server for the evening and called the experience uplifting.
“This was such a great event to take part in to give back to the community,” she said. “Children’s Place has an important mission and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support them and their work for children and families. It’s even better that we can have a good time with it as well.”
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
