AIKEN, S.C. (March 26, 2026) – Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the Savannah River Site liquid waste contractor, has awarded 17 college scholarships to high school seniors who are children of SRMC employees.

Each student received a $4,000 scholarship to support their pursuit of higher education. Recipients were selected based on a competitive, merit-based assessment of their academic performance, leadership experience, and a personal essay demonstrating their goals and commitment to learning.
SRMC recognized the students during its annual Family Scholarship Awards Dinner, where 17 recipients were honored for their scholastic and personal achievements, all either pursuing four-year-degree programs or a technical college program.
Savannah River Mission Completion President and Program Manager Dr. Thomas Burns, Jr. said the company is proud to invest in the next generation of scholars and leaders.
“These students represent the drive, curiosity, and determination that define our SRMC family,” Burns said. “Supporting their educational journeys is one of the most meaningful ways we can honor the dedication of our employees and help strengthen the communities we serve.”
He added that the program continues to grow as more students pursue STEM-related fields and technical careers aligned with the mission of the Savannah River Site.
“We’re excited to see where their talents take them,” Burns said. “Their achievements inspire all of us.”
