Savannah River Mission Completion Employees’ Generous Gifts Put United Way Campaign Over the Top

AIKEN, S.C. (November 30, 2023) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) employees have demonstrated exceptional compassion for the community by exceeding the fundraising goal for the 2023 SRMC Employee United Way Campaign.

SRMC is the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS). The campaign, which ran through early November, raised more than $310,000 for United Way agencies across the region.

SRMC President and Program Manager Dave Olson praised the employees for their contributions and support throughout the campaign.

"Once again, our workforce has shown that we care about the well-being of our surrounding communities," Olson said. "We offer our support to several United Way organizations throughout our area. Those organizations provide valuable services that are helping people get back on their feet and thrive. Surpassing our campaign goal is truly exciting, and I could not be prouder of our team."

The company had set a fundraising target of $275,000. SRMC’s fundraising campaign offers financial support to several United Way organizations in the Aiken, S.C./Augusta, Ga. area. On behalf of its employees, SRMC will present checks to the United Ways of Aiken County, Barnwell/Allendale Counties, Edgefield County, the Central Savannah River Area, the (S.C) Midlands, Bamberg/Colleton/Hampton, Anderson, McDuffie, and Screven counties.

United Way supports agencies surrounding the SRS, providing health and human services to families in need. The focus of those efforts include education, crisis assistance, financial stability, and living healthier lives.

SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.

SRMC employees gave their time, talent, and treasure to raise money to benefit several agencies supported by area United Way organizations. The employees surpassed their fundraising goal for the 2023 campaign, contributing $310,000 through payroll deductions, golf and softball competitions, and other activities.
