AIKEN, S.C. (April 15, 2025) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) employees showed that raising more than $40,000 for the 2025 SRMC Heart Walk Campaign in support of the American Heart Association is – literally – a walk in the park.

Savannah River Mission Completion demonstrated its continued community support for the American Heart Association through the 2025 CSRA Heart Walk. SRMC had more than 40 volunteers walk at the Heart Walk event.
SRMC, the Liquid Waste contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site (SRS), had more than 40 volunteers and walkers gather at SRP Park in North Augusta, S.C., on March 28 for the CSRA’s American Heart Association Heart Walk event, after generating contributions for the cause through numerous fundraising events. All funds raised by SRMC employees in the annual Heart Walk go to the American Heart Association to support research to save lives.
According to SRMC Deputy Director of Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality and 2025 CSRA Heart Walk Executive Sponsor Kent Rosenberger, this event gives employees the opportunity to emphasize both heart health and community giving.
“With safety as the primary core value of our employees, the Heart Walk fundraiser is a great reminder that personal health is an important part of staying safe,” Rosenberger said. “With each step at this event, our team proved its health and safety commitment to the community.”
Defense Waste Processing Facility Health & Safety Specialist Casey Williams was this year’s SRMC Heart Walk Campaign Chairperson. She said this event gives employees a chance to fight back against the number one killer in the country.
"Prioritizing heart health through habits and fundraising are great ways we can show our friends and family that we care,” Williams said. “There’s no better feeling in the world than helping others and knowing that the money or time you give stays in the CSRA to help those you love!”
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at SRS through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
