AIKEN, S.C. (March 22, 2022) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) employees raised $34,832 for the 2022 Heart Walk Campaign, exceeding the company goal of $30,000.
On March 12, 2022, more than 40 SRMC employees on 15 teams participated in the 2022 CSRA Heart Walk at SRP Park in North Augusta, S.C. The Heart Walk is an annual fundraiser that supports the American Heart Association.
"Savannah River Mission Completion was able to surpass our fundraising goal with teamwork and caring hearts," said SRMC’s 2022 Heart Walk Campaign Chair Charles Montgomery. "Employees and leadership from SRMC and the Salt Waste Processing Facility worked as one team to raise funds for a great cause. Together, we came in third place out of the 72 companies that participated in the CSRA Heart Walk.”
As the new Savannah River Site Integrated Mission Completion Contractor, SRMC’s community commitment covers four primary areas: regional education outreach, regional purchasing programs, workforce and economic development, and community support.
SRMC is committed to continuing the community support established by its parent companies – BWX Technologies, Amentum, and Fluor – who have been active in the CSRA for many years, according to SRMC President and Program Manager Dave Olson.
“Employee participation in the CSRA Heart Walk emphasizes Savannah River Mission Completion’s commitment to community support,” Olson said. “SRMC, joined by Salt Waste Processing Facility employees, worked together to exceed our goal for donations to the American Heart Association. This is one of the first great examples of the impact of having the power as one team in the SRS liquid waste mission.”
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
