AIKEN, S.C. (December 11, 2025) — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the liquid waste contractor at Savannah River Site (SRS), made a $5,000 donation to Golden Harvest Food Bank, aiding local families struggling with food insecurity.

The contribution will support Golden Harvest Food Bank’s efforts to serve communities in South Carolina and Georgia by sourcing nutritious food and distributing it to individuals in need. The organization collaborates with 350 partner agencies and programs and relies on more than 17,000 volunteer hours annually.
Savannah River Mission Completion Senior Vice President of Optimization & Integration Steve Howell presented the check to Golden Harvest.
“SRMC is honored to support numerous nonprofit organizations making meaningful impacts in the region such as Golden Harvest,” Howell said. “It is sobering to know that so many Americans go hungry every day, including our neighbors. SRMC is grateful for everything Golden Harvest is doing to help those in need.”
Golden Harvest Food Bank Director of Donor Engagement Melissa Osborne expressed her gratitude for the donation.
“In our area, one in six people struggle with hunger, and many are just one paycheck or medical crisis away from food insecurity,” Osborne said. “We are extremely grateful for SRMC’s partnership in helping us feed families who are struggling in the community.”
SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
